Between 1998 and 2006, there was a 61.6% rise in total deportations of people of Asian nationalities.

For my homeboys, for my set, for being down, my reward has been the last 21 years spent in prisons up and down the state. I can’t help thinking how I could have graduated from high school and went to my prom, instead of a cell and the craziness of having to deal with 1000 other killas.

Prisons are now more than 10% of California’s budget, the fastest growing State expense.
The prison budget has increased 205% since 1985, 52% during the last 5 years alone.

It would have been perfectly fine if I would have thought and stayed as a teenager then. Instead I put all of this “be the man” burden on my shoulders. Remain your age, don’t try to grow up too fast.

It’s sad to say that I was the lucky one, becuase most of my former gang friends are dead.

At that point I had been clean for about seven years. Then I was at a party one night and somebody offered me meth. I said to myself I could do it every once in awhile and not get hooked. Yeah right. Well I ended up doing it that night and just like the first time, once turned to twice and so on. That turned into two years of drug use and now here I am.
